Sophomore Harper Stewart led the offense with nine goals on the day.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 7 Long Beach State hosted a trio of exhibition matches to close their home games of the weekend, defeating Golden West College 18-9, Orange Coast College 22-5 and Long Beach City College 20-9.

Against the Rustlers, the Beach opened a comfortable lead after the first eight minutes, 7-3. GWC came back strong in the second half, but LBSU kept the control and extended the lead to 12-7. The third quarter saw less action with both teams only adding one goal each. Long Beach State won the last quarter 5-1 to finish the game defeating Golden West College, 18-9. Corbin Stanley led the offense with four goals as Caleb Francisco and Gabi Acosta both added hat tricks. On defense, goalkeeper William Whitstone recorded 13 saves.

The second game of the day saw alumni Dan Matulis in charge of the Pirates, as the Beach opened a 4-1 lead after the first. Keeping the momentum, LBSU scored nine goals against OCC's single goal in the quarter to head into halftime up 13-2. The Beach showed a strong defense in the second half to take the second win of the day over Orange Coast College, 22-5. Botond Hadju and Harper Stewart both added a team-high of four goals and goalkeeper Sergi Ramon recorded nine saves while adding a steal and an assist.

To close out the trio of exhibition matches, Long Beach State hosted Long Beach City College. The Beach and the Vikings traded goals in the first half and tied 4-4 after the first eight minutes. A strong effort by LBSU's offense gave control to the team up at half, 11-5. The Beach added six more goals against two of the Vikings to make a ten-goal game, 17-7 with one quarter left. LBCC repeated the two-goal quarter but LBSU controlled to secure the third win of the day, 20-9. Stewart scored another four goals against the Vikings and Acosta and Corbin Stanley both added hat tricks. Goalkeeper Joe Jenness had nine saves and added two steals.
