
Gabi Acosta And Caleb Francisco Named ACWPC All-America Honorable Mention

The duo led the Beach on offense combining over 100 goals.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Association of College Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced this Friday the 2025 season honorees with the offensive duo Gabi Acosta and Caleb Francisco earning Honorable Mention All-America.
Long Beach State closed another successful season with a 17-9 record and ranked eighth in the country after winning the Big West Regular Season title and reaching the conference tournament final for their second straight year. Acosta and Francisco were key pieces of the Beach offense this season, combining for 127 goals, 30% of the team's total for the year.
Sophomore phenom Gabi Acosta had another impressive season, scoring in 24 of the 25 games played and leading the team and the Big West with 68 goals. The great season earned him back-to-back Player of the Year honors and First Team All-Big West. It is the second time in his career that the center earns All-America honors after landing a Second Team ACWPC selection his freshman year. A force on offense, the center was also important on defense, ranking second on the team with 17 steals.
Junior attacker Caleb Francisco earns his first All-American selection after an impactful season for the Beach. Francisco ranked second on the team with 59 goals scored and earned First Team All-Big West selection for the second time. A local product, Francisco tied the program record for most goals scored in a single game after a career-high eight goals against No. 5 Fordham.
Both Acosta and Francisco surpassed the 100 career goals mark during the season, with Francisco finishing his third season with 137 and Acosta his second year with 132. Both players now rank in the program's Top 25 in career goals scored.
