SCOUTING THE RAINBOW WARRIORS
Hawai'i improved to 21-6 Tuesday night when the Rainbow Warriors defeated Hawai'i Pacific 10-8. UH is 8-4 in Big West play after scoring 10 runs in the top of the ninth at CSUN on Sunday to win the series 2-1.
 
Kamana Nahaku was named Big West Field Player of the Week. He hit three of his five home runs on the week in last Sunday's 14-10 come-from-behind victory at CSUN. He slashed .455/.520/1.182 on the week, scoring 10 hits, 12 RBI, and nine runs. For the season, Nahaku is hitting .366 with six home runs and 21 RBI.
 
Hawai'i's starting rotation will consist of Itsuki Takemoto (Friday, 2-4, 4.06 ERA, 33 strikeouts), Liam O'Brien (Saturday, 2-0, 1.36 ERA, 33 strikeouts), and Cooper Walls (Sunday, 2-0, 3.14 ERA and 24 strikeouts).
 
Long Beach State leads the all-time series against UH 25-19.
 
THE ASHWORTH 556
Kyle Ashworth helped lead Long Beach State to its first Big West series victory against UC Santa Barbara last weekend.
 
Ashworth slashed .556/.889/.692 last weekend against the Gauchos. He posted three doubles, two runs scored, two walks, and was hit by a pitch twice.

Ashworth has risen to a tie for the team lead in batting with Alex Champagne, as both are hitting .330. Ashworth has driven in a club-high 21 runs. He is also the team leader in on-base percentage (.482) and second in slugging (.500).
 
BRISENO BASHES
Armando Briseno is bashing the ball through the first 12 Big West games. In league-only competition, the junior shortstop is hitting .471 (16-34). He has posted a .618 slugging and .538 on-base percentage in Big West games through four weeks.
 
Overall, Briseno is second on the Dirtbags in home runs with four. His 20 RBI are the second most on the team, while his 313 batting average is the third-highest.

CHAMPAGNE STREAK
Returning to May 27, 2023, Long Beach State centerfield Alex Champagne has started 84 consecutive games, playing 734.2 consecutive innings.
 
He was the only Dirtbags player to appear and start all 55 games in 2024, playing every inning in center field.
 
Champagne had reached base in 20 consecutive games, a club-high, before the streak was halted in game two of the UC Santa Barbara series.
 
In addition to tying for the team lead in hitting with Kyle Ashworth (.330), Champagne has the team lead in runs (25), hits (31), sac hits (4), and stolen bases (8). He has not committed an error in 58 chances in center in 2025.

GEISS' PERFORMANCES
Sophomore Owen Geiss reset his career-high when he threw seven innings against UC Santa Barbara on Mar. 30. He struck out four and limited the Gauchos to four hits while only giving up one run. He reset his career-high with 114 pitches,
 
He tied his previous career-high when he threw 6.2 innings in the 10-0 victory at UC San Diego on Mar. 23.
 
Geiss limited the Tritons to six hits, struck out five, and walked two. He threw a career-high 112 pitches, 65 for strikes.

GEBB AND IGLESIAS APPEAR
Transfers Tyler Gebb and Joey Iglesias have anchored the Dirtbags' bullpen this season.
 
Gebb has pitched in 15 of the 26 Long Beach State games this season. His 15 appearances are the ninth most in Division I beginning this week.
 
Gebb has struck out 13 in 17.1 innings with one save. In 2025, opponents are batting .232 against him.
 
Iglesias has pitched in 12 games for LBSU this season, the 92nd most in Division I. Iglesias has recorded seven strikeouts in 13.2 innings.

EIGHT OVER 2000
For the seventh and eighth times this season, Long Beach State drew over 2,000 fans into Bohl Diamond at Blair Field during the UC Santa Barbara series. 2,443 came through the turnstiles on Friday before the season's largest crowd, and 2,815 came to Sunday's game.
 
Against Cal Poly on Mar. 16. 2,439 saw the Dirtbags face Cal Poly. LBSU enjoyed tremendous support on opening weekend as 1,842 came on the opening day versus Northwestern. Long Beach State drew over 2,000 fans for the Saturday and Sunday games against Northwestern. On Saturday, 2,055 fans came through the turnstiles, while the Bark in the Park crowd numbered 2,123 on Sunday.
 
The 2000 streak continued during the Michigan series. The opener featured an attendance of 2,367. The middle game had 2,320 before the series wrapped up, with the biggest crowd of the season so far, 2,465.
 
Long Beach State has the second-highest average attendance in the Big West (2,043) and is currently 39th in Division I in this category.
 
Since 2000, the Dirtbags have played in front of at least 2000 fans 124 times.
