Dartmouth returns to action after a 10-day break to take on the Dirtbags. The Big Green is 0-5 as the club heads to California for a seven-game road trip that begins in Long Beach.
Tyler Robinson is hitting .563 (9-16) over the first five Dartmouth games. He has driven in three runs to go along with a .813 slugging and a .650 on-base percentage.
Wednesday night's probable starter for Dartmouth is Marco Dumsky. Dumsky has appeared in two games this season for the Big Green, giving up four runs in 2.2 innings.
AGAINST THE OPPONENT
Long Beach State and Dartmouth are playing for the first time since Mar. 19-20, 1987 when LBSU defeated the Big Green 16-9 and 16-1.
STRONG PITCHING POWERS THE DIRTBAGS
Off to one of the strongest starts in the Dirtbags' era (since 1989) at 10-3-1, the Long Beach State pitching staff has been leading the success.
The Dirtbags lead the Big West and are fourth in Division I in ERA (2.85) to begin the week. The staff is fourth in D-1 in WHIP (1.08) and fourth in shutouts (3).
Long Beach State is seventh in hits allowed per nine innings (6.50).
