Kianna Hamilton-Fisher drops 25 points to set new career high.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Long Beach State's Kianna Hamilton-Fisher poured in a career high 25 points in route to a 20-point victory against Tulsa, 64-45.

The Beach (2-2) shot 42.9-percent from the field, while the Golden Hurricanes (3-2) shot 25.4-percent from the floor in a contest that saw Long Beach State dominate in almost every statistical category. In the last seven minutes of the first quarter, the Beach went on a dominating 16-0 run to lead 23-6. Defense was the driving force in their offense. They obtained 11 steals that turned into extra possessions for the Beach. The Beach also won the paint battle, 30-22 as the Golden Hurricane's struggled to stop anyone getting to the rim.

Redshirt Junior guard Kianna Hamilton-Fisher was scorching from the field once the competition began. In the first quarter alone, she was able to capitalize on 12 quick points. She tallied half of the Beach points and continued to display her offensive arsenal. Hamilton-Fisher finished the game with a career high of 25 points, shooting an efficient 63-percent from the field. Additionally, she added three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in an all-around productive performance. Due to her hot start in the first quarter, the Beach came out with high momentum and continued an all-around team effort.

Getting into the fun as well, Malia Bambrick displayed some efficient scoring, contributing nine points in the second quarter. She would finish with 16 points to end her night. Although Tulsa outscored LBSU in the second quarter, the Beach still obtained a 15-point lead going into halftime.

Again, defense was the name of the game. To begin the third quarter, Tulsa scored 10 points on 3-14 shooting, holding them to 21.4-percent from the field. This gave the Beach the advantage and in returned scored 15 points on an efficient 60 percent-shooting from the field.

Ultimately, Long Beach State's defense became staggering for Tulsa in the fourth quarter. Their lead increased as high as 20 points and that was due to points off turnovers that became advantageous for the Beach. LBSU would win that battle, 23-10. This became the major difference in the game which resulted in the Golden Hurricanes struggling to hit shots and gain consistent momentum.

Leading LBSU in rebounding was junior guard Kristyna Jeskeova who grabbed 10 boards to go along with one steal.

The Beach continue at the USF Tournament tomorrow afternoon. They will face off against the home team, USF, tip-off will begin at 3:30 P.M.
