The Beach has added another championship-tested freshman to its 2026-27 class with the signing of guard Malia Tualani
Malia Tualani | Guard | Medford, Ore.
Tualani arrives at Long Beach State after establishing herself as one of the top players in her conference. A three-time SWC First Team All-Conference selection, she earned All-State honors in 2026 after averaging 14.0 points per game during her senior season.
Throughout her high school career, Tualani helped lead her program to four appearances in the state championship tournament, capturing the 2024 6A state championship while also finishing as the state runner-up in both 2023 and 2026. Her consistent leadership and winning mentality played a key role in one of the most successful stretches in school history.
Off the court, Tualani excelled in the classroom, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class with Magna Cum Laude honors while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. She also completed her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence academically as she did on the basketball court.
Head Coach Minyon Moore on Tualani:
We are beyond excited to welcome Malia to our Long Beach State family. Joining us from Oregon as a true freshman, Malia comes from a championship-caliber high school program where she developed into a complete player and learned what it takes to win. She is not only an outstanding basketball player, but an even better person. Malia is the ultimate teammate—a true glue player who will do whatever it takes to help her team succeed. Her character, work ethic, and selfless approach make her a perfect fit for our culture. We can't wait to watch her grow throughout her career at Long Beach State. Welcome to The Beach, Malia!
