Long Beach State Women's Basketball Signs Selene Romero Olvera To 2026-27 Class

The Beach has added size and international experience to its 2026-27 roster with the signing of transfer forward Selene Romero Olvera
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State has officially signed junior transfer Selene Romero Olvera, a 6-5 forward from Guanajuato, Mexico, who joins the Beach after spending the last two seasons at Florida International University and Bethesda University.

Romero Olvera brings collegiate experience and an impressive international background to Long Beach State after competing at both the NAIA and NCAA Division I levels. A versatile frontcourt player, she spent the 2025-26 season at FIU after beginning her collegiate career at Bethesda University.
As a sophomore with the Panthers, Romero Olvera appeared in nine games while earning Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition. She averaged 1.1 points per game and scored a career-high four points at Missouri State while adding four rebounds during the season.
Prior to FIU, Romero Olvera played in 22 games with seven starts at Bethesda during the 2024-25 season. She averaged 2.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 55.6 percent from three-point range. Romero Olvera finished the season with 50 points, 77 rebounds, and nine blocks, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Before beginning her collegiate career, Romero Olvera helped lead her high school to a fourth-place finish at the CONADEIP National Tournament and earned team MVP honors. She also developed through Mexico's national team system, representing her country on the U17 and U18 National Teams. In addition, Romero Olvera competed for the Guanajuato State Team, Leones Anahuac, the Venice Beach Summer League in Los Angeles, and the Juegos CONADE.
