Long Beach State Drops A Pair To Cal And Pacific

The Beach will compete in the seventh-place match on Sunday against UC Davis.
Berkeley, Calif. — The Long Beach State men's water polo team dropped a pair of games on Saturday at the MPSF Invitational with losses to No. 3 Cal and No. 8 University of Pacific.
To open play on Saturday the Beach (9-4) were tied 2-2 with the Bears after the first quarter.
The Bears pulled away in the second and third quarter outscoring the Beach 8-3 and eventually taking a 13-8 victory.
Riley Catino and Matt Morris led the Beach as both scored two goals and Andrej Bosanac had 10 saves in the cage.
In the final match of the day, the Beach took a 3-2 lead over Pacific, but the Tigers outscored the Beach 10-4 to walk away with a 12-7 win.
Connor Mannion led the Beach with two goals and Bosanac had seven saves.
The Beach will wrap up MPSF Tournament play when they take on UC Davis in the seventh-place match Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
