Senior Matt Morris scores three and dishes out four assists in win over Aggies.
Berkeley, Calif. — No. 6 Long Beach State wrapped up the MPSF Invitational with a 18-10 victory against No. 7 UC Davis in the seventh-place match on Sunday.
Matt Morris led the way with three goals and four assists as the senior also got his teammates involved.
Ten Beach athletes found the back of the cage as LBSU (10-4) led wire-to-wire after opening a 4-1 lead in the first quarter.
Garrett Zaan and Theodoros Pateros also scored three goals as the Beach 8-of-15 powerplay attempts to keep the Aggies at arm's reach for the entirety of the match.
Before being subbed out for Liam Ward, junior Andrej Bosanac had 12 saves in the cage to tie his season high.
Defensively, the Beach neutralized the Aggies' powerplay opportunities keeping UC Davis scoreless in 12-of-14 opportunities.
The Beach will now prepare for the Claremont Tournament next week.
