Long Beach State Takes On UC Davis To Open Big West Tournament Play

The Beach is the No. 5 seed while the Aggies are the No. 4 seed.
San Diego, Calif. — The No. 15 Long Beach State women's water polo team, the No. 5 seed in the Big West Tournament, takes on No. 10 UC Davis, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, Friday at noon in the first round of competition.
The winner will advance to take on Hawai'i on Saturday at noon.

The tournament will be broadcast on Big West TV and live stats will be provided through FOSH throughout the weekend.
ABOUT THE BEACH
-Freshman Mariah Walker was named Big West Player of the Week on April 21st after a strong performance against UC San Diego. In the Beach's conference match against the Tritons, Walker scored on both of her shot attempts and dished out two assists.
-Lena Kotanchyan continues to lead the way for the Beach with a team-high 19 goals. In league play, Anne de Kleer has scored eight goals to lead the team in conference action.
-In the cage, Inbar Geva has a team-high 39 saves.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
-Last weekend the Aggies lost both their contests to Hawai'i dropping a 7-5 contest to the Rainbow Wahine in conference play.
-Noelle Wijnbelt leads the Aggies with a team-high 38 goals.
LAST TIME OUT
-Last time the Beach faced the Aggies, UC Davis came away with the 10-9 sudden victory in a thrilling conference game in March.
