Elisa Portillo Named ACWPC Second Team All-America

The senior becomes a three-time All-American after a record-breaking season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a fantastic senior year, attacker Elisa Portillo was selected as Second Team All-American for the second straight season, announced this week by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).
Portillo led Long Beach State to the Big West Championship finals for the third straight year, leading Long Beach State with 74 goals, 54 assists, 40 steals and seven blocks in her final season with the Beach, best on the team in all four categories.
The senior set a pair of Long Beach State career records over the course of the season as well, passing Long Beach State Athletics Hall of Famer Cassie Azevedo in two major records, scoring 251 goals and making 145 assists over her four seasons at the Beach.
This is the third All-American selection for Portillo and the second year in a row she was named to the Second Team, after earning Third Team honors her freshman year.
