Elena Kotanchyan scores two goals as the Beach falls to UC San Diego in non-league contest.
Long Beach, Calif. — Wrapping up the regular season, the Long Beach State women's water polo team fell to No. 9 UC San Diego, 8-6 Saturday afternoon at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.
After a shootout Friday night, both teams played a physical game as the Tritons took the nonleague win.

UCSD's Annika Arroyo tied it up with her first of a game-high three goals 13 seconds later.
That was a first of five ties in the game as both teams exchanged goals in the first half.
Camille Gallardo-Russell, Mariah Walker also scored as the Beach (2-7, 1-3) went to halftime trailing the Tritons (9-5, 3-1) 5-4.

In the third quarter, Anne de Kleer scored the only goal of the period on a penalty shot to tie the game 5-5 heading into the final eight minutes.
Sydney Boland gave the Tritons a 6-5 lead early and Grace Pevehouse extended it to 7-5 on a penalty shot to put the game out of reach for the Beach.
In the cage, Kate Green-Jones had eight saves.
The Beach will now have a break until the Big West Tournament April 30-May 2.
