The Dirtbags tallied a season-high 12 runs, but fell 17-12 on Saturday.
It is the most runs scored by the Dirtbags since April 2, 2019 (14 against ASU) and the most runs given up since March 17, 2018 (19 against Minnesota).
The Dirtbags dominated the first five innings of the ballgame plating three in the first inning, one in the third, and putting up a five-spot in the fifth.
Going into the bottom half of the fifth, LBSU held a 9-1 lead as Dirtbag starter Luis Ramirez kept the Tigers in check through four. He would surrender a pair of runs in the fifth before his day ended as he tossed 4.2 innings allowing three runs on three hits and four walks.
Long Beach State plated two more runs in the sixth to push their lead back to 11-3, but the Pacific offense was all over the Dirtbag relievers plating four in the bottom half.
The final Dirtbag run came in the top of the seventh on a wild pitch and following the seventh-inning stretch, it was all Tigers.
In the bottom of the seventh, Pacific sent 14 batters to the plate plating nine runs against four different Long Beach State pitchers to take the lead. They would also add on another run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 17-12.
The nine runs in the seventh is the most runs in a single inning against the Dirtbags since surrendering nine runs against Texas A&M on March 10, 2018.
Calvin Estrada led the Dirtbag offense going 3-for-4 with two walks, two runs, and three RBI. He finished a double shy of the cycle after recording the other three legs in the first five innings. The home runs is Estrada's team-leading fourth of the season.
Connor Kokx extended his reached base to 19 straight games with a 2-for-4 performance. He doubled and homered to go along with a walk, two runs scored and two runs driven in.
Jonathon Long (2-for-3), Brennan Rozell (2-for-3), and Toren Craig (2-for-4) also recorded multi-hit games in the loss.
The Dirtbags will put this game behind them and look to bounce back in the series finale tomorrow afternoon. First pitch scheduled for noon at Klein Family Field.
