No. 5 Long Beach State Set For GCC Clash Against No. 10 Pepperdine

With a win, the Beach will take at least a share of the Golden Coast regular season title.
Long Beach, Calif. — The Long Beach State men's water polo is back at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center for another Top 10 matchup against No. 10 Pepperdine.
After picking up a big win against No. 6 Pacific last week, the Beach (17-5, 3-0) sits in first place in the Golden Coast Conference and are one win away from at least a share of the GCC Regular Season title.

GCC'S BEST
Freshman Alika Naone was named the GCC Player of the Week after scoring a career-high four goals in the Beach's win against Pacific. He became the fourth Beach athlete to earn the honors this season.
HOT START
The Beach started the season 8-0 after sweeping their competition at the Triton Invitational and Inland Empire Classic. It was the best start for the program since 2005.
PATIENTLY WAITING
The Beach hasn't competed since the 2019 season and is ready to get back in the pool after not competing during the 2020 season.
INTERNATIONAL TIES
The Beach had four athletes compete at this year's FINA Men's Junior Water Polo Championships in Prague. Liam Ward, Zach Frazier and Evan Cain competed for the USA, while Abdelrahman Soliman competed with Egypt.
OLYMPIC COMPETITION
Coach Gavin Arroyo represented the United States at the Tokyo Games as an assistant coach for the national men's water polo team.
