• Long Beach State won four-straight games before dropping a 68-44 contest to Hawaii in Honolulu last week.Â
• LBSU is 10-11 on the year and 5-3 in Big West action. The Beach are in third place in the conference standings.

• Long Beach State has officially changed the nickname for all sports other than baseball to Beach with the NCAA. Please do not refer to LBSU basketball as the 49ers.
Scouting Cal Poly
Cal Poly comes into the game against Long Beach State with a 5-14 overall record and a 2-6 ledger in Big West Conference action. The Mustangs are coming off of a 59-46 setback to Hawaii on Thursday.
The Mustangs have three players who average double figures in Sierra Campisano (16.4 ppg), Abbey Ellis (15.2 ppg), and Hana Vesela (12.5 ppg). Campisano is also the team's leading rebounder (8.7 rpg) and also tops the squad with 14 blocks. Meanwhile, Ellis leads the team in assists (66) and steals (28).Â
As a team, Cal Poly averages 57.4 points per game, while the Mustangs are shooting nearly 40 percent from the field (39.4 percent). However, the Mustangs have surrendered 62.9 points per game to their opponents this season.

Offensive Output
The Beach are averaging nearly 60 points per game and are led offensively by Shanaijah Davison (14.1 ppg), Justina King (12.9 ppg), and Ma'Qhi Berry (9.5 ppg). The trio have contributed to 60 percent of Long Beach State's points this season with each player having at least one 20-plus point game this season. King leads the way with four 20-plus point performances, while Davison has racked up three, and Berry has turned in two.Â
Defensively Strong
LBSU has been defensively sound this season as the Beach are second in the Big West in steals with more than 200 to average 10.9 per game. LBSU has forced nearly 450 turnovers (21.0 per game) as the team boasts a turnover margin of +6.8 to lead the conference. Leading the Beach defensive efforts is Ma'Qhi Berry who leads the Big West in steals with 52 to average 2.4 per game. The Beach have three players rank in the top 15 in steals per game as Justina King (1.7 spg) and Shanaijah Davison (1.3 spg) are ranked sixth and 13th, respectively.
A Grand Time
Junior guard Shanaijah Davison became the 26th LBSU women's basketball player to record 1,000 points in her career. Davison reached the milestone when she recorded 19 points in a 72-69 victory over Cal Poly to open Big West Conference action. She has now amassed 1,116 points in her career to rank 20th all-time, passing LBSU great Penny Moore.
Cleaning up the Glass
Senior forward Cydnee Kinslow is leading the rebounding charge for Long Beach State. She has grabbed double-digit boards in four of the Beach's games so far to average 5.9 rebounds per game to rank in the top 10 in the Big West. The Oakley, Calif., native has done a solid job cleaning up the glass as she collected 11 rebounds at California Baptist in the season opener, then turned around and registered 11 boards at then-No. 11 UCLA. She set a new career-high with 12 rebounds against Utah State en route to a double-double as she added 13 points. Kinslow notched her second double-double of the season at Cal State Fullerton when she racked up a career-high 16 points to go along with a team-leading 10 boards.
King is Queen
Sophomore guard Justina King has dished out 67 assists this season to set the pace for LBSU. Her 3.3 assists per game rank her in the top 10 in the Big West. Additionally, King is second on the team with 12.9 points per game which is good for 13th in the conference.Â
Berry Good
Redshirt sophomore Ma'Qhi Berry is averaging 9.5 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds per game, while adding a team-leading 52 steals, and 54 assists. She racked up a career-high 24 points against Cal Poly in the Big West Conference opener. Â
Green Machines
Long Beach State's Lauren Green and Aaryon Green are not related, but both give the Beach solid play when on the court. Lauren Green is a sophomore forward from Tucson, Ariz., while Aaryon Green is a redshirt senior out of Rialto, Calif. Lauren has started in 14-of-21 games so far and leads the team with 12 blocks, while adding 4.1 rebounds per game, 4.1 points per game, and 22 steals. Meanwhile, Aaryon has earned 14 starts as well and has registered 3.6 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, 26 steals, 11 assists, and seven blocks.
Hardy Makes it Look Easy
Since starting Big West action at the beginning of the month, Jasmine Hardy has been a perfect free throw shooter knocking down 16-of-16 free throws. The sophomore set a new career-high for herself when she went 12-for-12 from the line against Hawaii. She finished the game as the Beach's leading scorer with 18 points as LBSU defeated Hawaii 62-55.
