Women's Hoops Set to Take on UC Davis, CSUN in Big West Action
The Long Beach State women's basketball team continues Big West Conference action this week as the Beach travel to northern California to take on UC Davis on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m., before returning home to host CSUN on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. The game against CSUN is a doubleheader with the men's basketball team and will also honor the 1994-95 squads which were the first Beach teams to play inside the Walter Pyramid.

• Long Beach State closed out the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 6-9 record.
• The Beach kicked off Big West Conference action with a 72-69 victory against Cal Poly, before dropping a close 69-65 road contest at Cal State Fullerton.

UC Davis comes into the game against Long Beach State with an identical 6-9 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Big West action. The Aggies opened league play with a 75-70 loss at UC Riverside, but rebounded with a 62-49 victory over Hawaii.
The Aggies are led offensively by Katie Toole (15.6 ppg) and Nina Bessolo (10.4 ppg). Cierra Hall and Kayla Konrad each average more than 6.0 rebounds per game as Hall leads the way with 6.9, while Konrad adds 6.1 boards per game.
As a team, UC Davis is shooting 41.7 percent from the field, while averaging 70.3 points per game. The Aggies have held their opponents to 67.4 points per game this season.

Leading the way for CSUN in assists is Hayley Tanabe as she has distributed 54 on the year. Meanwhile, Lauren Shymewicz has posted a team-leading 24 blocks.
The Series: The Beach vs. The Matadors

Senior forward Cydnee Kinslow is leading the rebounding charge for Long Beach State. She has grabbed double-digit boards in four of the Beach's games so far to average 6.5 rebounds per game. The Oakley, Calif., native has done a solid job cleaning up the glass as she collected 11 rebounds at California Baptist in the season opener, then turned around and registered 11 boards at then-No. 11 UCLA. She set a new career-high with 12 rebounds against Utah State en route to a double-double as she added 13 points. Kinslow notched her second double-double of the season at Cal State Fullerton when she racked up a career-high 16 points to go along with a team-leading 10 boards.
King is Queen

The guard out of Irving, Texas is averaging 10.2 points per game to go along with 3.9 rebounds per game, while adding a team-leading 35 steals, and 36 assists. She racked up a career-high 24 points against Cal Poly in the Big West Conference opener.
Green Machines
Long Beach State's Lauren Green and Aaryon Green are not related, but both give the Beach solid play when on the court. Lauren Green is a sophomore forward from Tucson, Ariz., while Aaryon Green is a redshirt senior out of Rialto, Calif. Lauren has started in 9-of-15 games so far and leads the team with eight blocks, while adding 4.1 rebounds per game, 3.7 points per game, and 16 steals. Meanwhile, Aaryon has earned eight starts thus far and has registered 3.3 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, 12 steals, sevev assists, and four blocks.
