About The Beach
• Long Beach State owns a 1-3 record after starting the year with a victory over Westcliff sandwiched between a pair of losses to California Baptist, No. 11 UCLA, and Utah State.
• The Beach are averaging 65.8 points per game as they have connected on 97-of-1247 field goals for a field goal percentage of 39.3.
• LBSU has two players who are averaging double-figures this season. Junior Shanaijah Davison leads the team with 13.5 points per game, while sophomore Justina King adds 11.8 points per game.
• Cydnee Kinslow had a big game on Monday against Utah State as she notched a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. She is the squad's leading rebounder with 9.8 boards per game, while contributing 9.3 points per game.
• Kinslow also leads the squad with 10 steals as she set a new career-high with seven in the home opener against Westcliff. Against the Warriors, Kinslow was a huge contributor to LBSU's 21 steals which forced the Warriros into 34 turnovers.
• The reigning Big West Conference Freshman of the Year, Justina King, has picked up right where she left off. She Beach's leader in assists a year ago paces this squad this season with 17 assists, while adding 11.8 points per game. She poured in a season-high 22 points at UCLA last week in her best offensive performance of the year so far.
• Lauren Green is the team's leader in blocks as the sophomore forward has put up five on the year so far, while Kinslow is right behind her with four.
• Long Beach State has officially changed the nickname for all sports other than baseball to Beach with the NCAA. Please do not refer to LBSU basketball as the 49ers.
Scouting Loyola Marymount
Loyola Marymount brings a 1-3 record into the Walter Pyramid to face Long Beach State. The Lions' lone win of the season came on Nov. 13 against Hawaii, 66-51. LMU has since dropped a pair of contests to Cal State Fullerton (79-74) and UC Irvine (80-65).
The Lions have three players averaging double-figurs led by Jasmine Jones' 12.5 points per game. Ciera Ellington (11.0 ppg) and Chelsey Gipson (10.8 ppg) round out the top three. Raychel Stanley leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 rebounds per game.
Gipson is the team's leader in assists with 13 and steals with 10, while Ellington leads the squad with five blocks.
As a team, LMU is shooting 36.7 percent from the field, while averaging 64.0 points per game.
The Series: The Beach vs. The Lions
Long Beach State and Loyola Marymount will meet for the 20th time in program history and the Lions lead the series 14-5. LMU has won the last two meetings against the Beach as LBSU is looking for its first victory over the Lions since 2016.
Offensive Output
The Beach opened the 2019-20 season strong offensively and have a pair of players averaging double-figures. Additionally, in just three games thus far, Long Beach State has already seen two different players turn in 20-point performances. Junior guard Shanaijah Davison leads the offensive effort for the Beach with 13.5 points per game. The product out of Woodland, Calif., recorded 21 points in LBSU's home opener against Westcliff to lead the Beach to victory on Homecoming. Sophomore guard Justina King is coming off a game in which she scored 22 points against No. 11 UCLA at Pauley Pavilion to bring her points per game average to 11.8, which is good for second on the squad.

Senior forward Cydnee Kinslow is leading the rebounding charge for Long Beach State. She has grabbed double-digit boards in three of the Beach's four games so far to average 9.8 rebounds per game. The Oakley, Calif., native has done a solid job cleaning up the glass as she collected 11 rebounds at California Baptist in the season opener, then turned around and registered 11 boards at No. 11 UCLA. She set a new career-high with 12 rebounds against Utah State on Monday en route to a double-double as she added 13 points.
King is Queen
The 2018-19 Big West Conference Freshman of the Year, Justina King, has picked up right where she left off. The sophomore guard, who led the Beach in assists a year ago (107), has dished out 17 assists this season to set the pace for LBSU. Additionally, she adds 11.8 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, and five steals in just four games so far.

Long Beach State Women's Basketball Head Coach Jeff Cammon announced the signing of three new recruits for the 2020-21 season. The signing class consists of a trio of incoming freshmen in Danelle Arigbabu, Patricia Chung, and Savannah Tucker.
"We're very excited about our 2020 recruiting class," Cammon stated. "These young ladies bring in much needed size, speed, and toughness – all characteristics that will help us continue to grow our program."
Danelle Arigbabu
Fr. | C | 6-3 | Frankfurt, Germany
Arigbabu comes to the Beach from Frankfurt, Germany where the 6-foot-3 center competed on for the U17 Junior National Team and helped her squad win the German Championship in 2014 in Berlin, before going on to play for the Federal Youth Camp in 2015. The tall post player is known for her defensive skills as she looks to make an immediate impact for Long Beach State.
Patricia Chung
Fr. | G | 5-6 | Monterey Park, Calif. | Mark Keppel HS
Chung is a 5-foot-6 point guard who comes to Long Beach State after a three-year prep career at Mark Keppel High School. While playing with the Aztecs, Chung was a two-time First Team All-League selection who averaged 20.9 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game, 6.5 steals per game, and 6.1 assists per game in her junior season. Her performance on the court earned her an All-Area First Team selection as well as a Second Team All-CIF honor. Following the 2018-19 season, Chung was named to the Cal Hi-Sports All-State First Team (Division II).
Savannah Tucker
Fr. | G | 5-9 | Fresno, Calif. | Clovis North HS
Tucker rounds out the LBSU recruiting class as the 5-foot-9 shooting guard brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Beach. The Fresno, Calif., native excels on both sides of the ball as she was named TRAC Co-MVP as she enters her senior season at Clovis North High School as the school's all-time points leader. She set the school's scoring average record with 17.8 points per game as a sophomore, then bested her own mark the following year with an average of 20.1 points per game in her junior season. Tucker also holds the school record for most points scored in a game with 38 to go along with the single-game blocks record (5). She was named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State First Team after helping lead the Broncos to a 25-6 overall record and a 9-1 mark in the TRAC as the squad went on to bring home the first girls' basketball TRAC title in school history. Tucker is a 2017-18 First Team All-League selection, a two-time First Team All-State honoree for the Class of 2020, as well as a Second Team All-State Overall selection.
