Seniors Shine As Long Beach State Closes Beach Invitational With Record Performances

Seniors honored as Beach finish the Beach Invitational strong with program records and top marks.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State track and field wrapped up Day 2 of the Beach Invitational at Jack Rose Track with a strong showing across both the men's and women's teams, highlighted by record-setting performances and a celebration honoring 22 seniors.
The day was highlighted with a tribute to the program's seniors, recognizing the contributions of Trinity Barnett, Daryana Hall, KiiKii Brown, Alexa Camacho, Madeline Scovil, Natasha King, Marikay Schwab, Alyssa Tapanes, Nataly Toledo, Giszelle Hrehor and Rori Denness-Lamont on the women's side. The men honored Tristyn Flores, Ryan Rivituso, Quinten Flowers, Ryan Gregory, Milo Orona, Miguel Orozco, Cyprus Rice, Cytres Vives, Ethan Florez, Cameron Gill and Kyle Reden for their impact on the program.
On the track, Trinity Barnett delivered a standout senior performance, winning the 100-meter invite in 11.54, the seventh-fastest time in program history. She followed it up with a historic run in the 200 meters, placing second in 23.23 while setting a new program record, breaking a mark that had stood since 1978. Barnett also contributed to the women's 4x400 relay team that placed fourth in 3:41.35 alongside Bree Hollins, Zamaria Mack and Milani Bell.
The women's sprint group saw additional strong finishes from Daryana Hall, who posted times of 12.14 in the 100 and 24.65 in the 200, while Jaliyah Davis clocked 12.11 and 24.69 in the same events. In the 400, Milani Bell (56.38) and Bree Hollins (56.66) turned in solid performances.
In distance events, Darcy Ray led the way with a third-place finish in the 1500 at 4:42.28, followed by senior Nataly Toledo in fifth (4:54.83), Brooke Willoughby in seventh (4:58.41) and senior Natasha King in ninth (5:06.88), while Sharice Laygo also competed with a time of 5:19.92. Elisa Rodriguez added a top-10 finish in the 800 with a time of 2:18.00.
In the hurdles, Zamaria Mack posted a 14.50 in the 100 hurdles, while Ndiah Hall followed at 15.74.
Field events saw consistent production, with Kendra Daniels clearing 1.66m in the high jump. In the long jump, Daneira Pellum led the group at 5.47m, followed closely by Jenna Morales (5.44m) and Amelia Gray (5.27m), while senior Alexa Camacho added a mark of 4.85m. Pellum also placed eighth in the triple jump (11.71m), with Gray in tenth-place (11.50m) and senior Madeline Scovil (11.47m) close behind.
In the throws, Mai Ricks highlighted the day with a shot put mark of 14.46m and added a 43.03m throw in discus, while Sammy Chang led the discus group at 44.84m.
On the men's side, Tristyn Flores capped his senior day with a dominant win in the 100 meters, clocking 10.16, the second-fastest time in program history. Trey Sheron followed with a third-place finish at 10.26, ranking 3rd in program history. Sheron later added a fourth-place finish in the 200 at 20.62, the third-best mark in program history.
In the 800, Lance Denhalter (1:53.80) and Cameron Rhone (1:54.30) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with Cash Obando (1.56.12) also placing in the top eight. Max Ramirez (4:15.77) and Brandon Day (4:18.31) competed in the 1500, while Cameron Simmons posted a 14.70 in the 110 hurdles.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Sheron, Vincent Jones, Jaden Dasher and Flores ran 3:21.63, while Dasher also placed eighth in the 400 hurdles at 52.58.
In the field, Steven Evans-Glynn delivered a first-place finish in the long jump at 7.67m, with senior Ryan Gregory placing fifth at 7.22m. Cytres Vives cleared 1.97m in the high jump, while VJ Vanderlipe placed eighth in the pole vault at 5.10m, followed by senior Cyprus Rice at 4.95m.
Senior Quinten Flowers added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump invite at 14.61m. Tyler Knowles led the discus group with a throw of 46.96m followed by Diego Herrera-Vendrell (42.98m).
With a mix of veteran leadership and standout performances, the Beach closed the meet on a high note, celebrating its seniors while continuing to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
