FIRST PITCH
Long Beach State returns to Big West action this weekend as the Dirtbags travel to UC San Diego.

Friday's action begins at 6 p.m. Saturday's first pitch is 2 p.m. with Sunday's series finale beginning at 1 p.m.

All three games will be streamed by ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE TRITONS
UC San Diego is 11-8 overall and 3-3 in the Big West after taking 2-of-3 at home against Cal State Fullerton last weekend.

Noah Lazuka is the team leader in batting as he is hitting at a .333 clip.

Michael Crossland leads the Big West in home runs with eight. His 20 RBI are the sixth-most in the conference. He is hitting .320 on the year, second on the club.

Teammate J.C. Allen has driven in 22 runs, the fifth-best in the Big West.

Matthew Dalquist is Friday's probable starter for UC San Diego. Dalquist and Saturday's scheduled starter, Spencer Reid, are tied for the league lead in strikeouts with 30. The duo won back-to-back Big West Pitcher of the Week honors Mar. 3 and Mar. 10.

Third in the conference in innings pitched (28.2), he is fourth in ERA (2.20). Dalquist is 2-1 in five starts in 2025. Seid is also 2-1, starting five times. He has pitched 22 innings and has a 4.96 ERA.

Sunday's probable starter for UCSD is scheduled to be either Nathan Ries or Nic Gregson. Ries is 1-1 with a 6.27 ERA and 13 strikeouts. Gregson is 0-0, giving four earned runs in three innings pitched.

THE LAST TIME OUT
Long Beach State overcame a 4-0 deficit, scoring seven times over the final two at-bats to defeat LMU 9-6 Tuesday night. Here is the recap;
