Arizona swept Pepperdine last week in Tucson as the Waves fell to 3-14 on the year.
Julian Nunez is Pepperdine's leading hitter (.288) and the Waves' leader in home runs (2). Max Aude has a club-high six RBI. Pepperdine's Tuesday starter is to be determined.
The Dirtbags defeated the Waves 3-2 earlier this season at the Tony Gwynn Legacy to extend LBSU's winning streak in the series to seven.
Long Beach State and Pepperdine are playing for the 139th time, with the Dirtbags leading the all-time series 73-63-2.
BRISENO BASHES
Armando Briseno bashed the ball at UC Irvine in the Big West opener Mar. 7-9. He hit .500 with one home run and three RBI against the Anteaters. He posted a .833 slugging and a .538 on-base percentage during the series.
In 2025, Briseno is the team leader in home runs (3), RBI (14 with Connor Charpiot), and slugging percentage (.509). He is second on the squad in hitting (.291).
