THIS WEEK
Long Beach State travels to the University of New Mexico Collegiate Classic this weekend. Claudine Raud-Gumiel is entered in Friday's Pentathlon which begins at 9:10 a.m. PT. The field events on Friday begin at 10 a.m. PT, while Friday's track events begin at 2:30 p.m. PT. Saturday's track and field action begins at 9 a.m. PT.

Teams scheduled to compete are Arizona, Arizona State, Azusa Pacific, California, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois, Iowa, Long Beach State, LSU, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Stanford, Texas, TCU, Texas Tech, UCLA, and USC. This week's meetis one of the strongest regular season competitions as there are 15 combined Top-25 teams with one Division II Top-5 team. Here is the breakdown;
BARNETT NAMED MPSF FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Long Beach State's Trinity Barnett was selected MPSF Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 29.
At the Nevada Invitational, Barnett broke the Long Beach State 60m school record with a time of 7.32aa and posted the second-fastest 200m performance in school history with a sizzling 23.97 (24.04aa). She placed first in the 200m and third (the top college) in the 60m. After running 7.32aa during the 60m prelims, she ran 7.36a in the final. She was also part of the LBSU 4x400m relay, which ran the third-quickest time in history, 3:46.70aa, and finished second in the event.
Barnett is first in the MPSF in both the 60 and 200m and is second in the 4x400m Relay. She begins this week ranked 34th in the NCAA in the 60m.

Long Beach State opened the indoor campaign at the Nevada Invitational Jan. 24-25. Four school records were tied or broken during the meet. Here are the recaps;
