
Barnett Breaks 200m School Record On Day 1 Of NM Classic

Long Beach State has broken or tied five school records during the 2025 indoor season.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The fifth school record of the indoor season was set on Friday as Long Beach State opened competition at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
WOMEN
Trinity Barnett reset the school record in the 200m. Running in the 13th of 16 heats, Barnett ran an altitude-adjusted time of 23.71, breaking Courtne' Davis' previous mark of 24.00, which was set in 2018. Barnett came in 10th in the field of 56 runners.
Mackenzie Hack was the runner-up in the mile run after recording an altitude-adjusted time of 5:02.14. Marikay Schwab (5:05.05aa) was fourth in the race, while Kadyn Palaschuk placed sixth (5:07.70aa).
Claudine Raud-Gumiel opened the pentathlon by winning the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.35aa (1,055 points). Her performance is the third quickest 60m hurdles in school history. She cleared a career-best 5-4 1/2 in the high jump to score 783 points and finish sixth. In the shot put, Raud-Gumiel posted a season-best 34-6 3/4 to record 564 points for a fifth-place showing. Raud-Gumiel's top long jump effort, 17-11 3/4, came on her third and final attempt and sent her into an eighth-place showing (694 points). She did not start the competition's final event, the 800m. Raud-Gumiel placed 13th (3,096) overall.
KiiKii Brown posted the ninth-longest long jump in school history, 18-10 1/2, to finish 17th.
Long Beach State is ninth (16) in the team scoring race, with Arizona State (56) leading.
MEN
Aidan Turner reset his indoor best in the pole vault for the second week in a row as he cleared 16-2 1/2 to tie for sixth with Ole Miss' Ford Maberry in the "B" pole vault.
Kyle Jankans cleared a season-best 6-11 3/4 to finish sixth in the high jump.
Quinten Flowers finished sixth in the long jump (22-11 1/4).
Cameron Gill ran an altitude-adjusted time of 4:11.44 in the mile to place seventh.
Omri Shiff charted the third fastest time in school history, 21.46aa, to finish 16th in the field of 52 in the unseeded 200m.
Long Beach State (5) is 13th in the team competition, with USC (48.5) in the lead.
