FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— Hailey Fune' tied the women's 100m hurdles school record on day two of the NCAA West Region First Round Thursday at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Fune' ran 13.21 to tie Rahni Turner's mark set on Apr. 1, 2023. She advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals by finishing 14th in the field of 48. Her time is only .01 from automatically advancing to the NCAA National Championships. The 100m hurdles quarterfinals are set for a 4:15 p.m. PDT/6:15 p.m. CDT start. Fune entered the day seeded 31st in the event. Due to injury, Turner did not start the race.
Giszelle Hrehor improved her seed position (48th) by 22 positions to finish 26th with her second-best hammer throw of the season, 187-3.
Rori Denness-Lamont finished 25th in the javelin. The LBSU school record holder, she posted a toss of 158-7.
Sofia Lavreshina lowered her own seventh fastest 400m hurdles time to 58.97. She improved upon her seed time (48th) to place 27th.
