AGAINST THE OPPONENT
Long Beach State and Hawai'i are playing for the 49th, 50th, and 51st times, with the Dirtbags leading the all-time series 23-15.

2000 x 10
Games one and two of the UC Irvine series last week raised the total of games in which at least 2,000 fans came to a game at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field this season. Through 27 of 30 scheduled home games, the Dirtbags have welcomed over 2,000 into Bohl Diamond at Blair Field 10 times. 52,416 fans have come through the turnstiles for an average of 1,941 per game.

CHARPIOT ON TOP
Connor Charpiot leads the Dirtbags on offense. He has reached base in 39 (including one stretch of 30 in a row) of the 41 games he has played.

Charpiot had an LBSU-hit 16-game hitting streak that ended at Michigan on Apr. 26. It was the longest hitting streak by a Dirtbags player since 2021-22 when Chase Lutrell posted a 25-game streak.

Charpiot leads the Dirtbags in hitting at a .327 clip and in multiple-hit games with 17.

Charpiot was forced to sit out eight games due to an injury he suffered during the Pepperdine game on Apr. 2.

NEWMAN HOMERS
John Newman Jr. became the first Dirtbags player to hit two home runs in a game this season when he smacked a pair at Michigan on Apr. 26.  Newman Jr. leads the team in home runs with 11.

Hitting .302, he leads the team in slugging percentage (.611), on-base percentage (.437), and doubles (15). Newman is tied for the team lead in RBI (36) with Adrian Lopez.

He is second on the team in stolen bases (16-19) and is now ranked nationally in stolen bases (129) and stolen bases per game (0.35).

The senior catcher was behind the dish for 127 consecutive innings over 14 games before moving to the DH slot at San Diego State on Apr. 9.

Newman has appeared in 46 of the 49 Long Beach State games this season, starting 45 times.
