Long Beach State hosts UC Riverside this weekend in a three-game Big West series.
Before Friday night's 6 p.m. game, the Dirtbags' 1989 College World Series team will be honored on the 35th anniversary of the program's first CWS appearance.
Saturday's game begins at 6 p.m. After the contest, the second scheduled Fireworks Night of the Season will occur.
Sunday's series finale begins at 1 p.m. and is the third Bark in the Park Day at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
After losing 11 consecutive Big West games to begin the 2024 campaign, the Highlanders defeated Cal State Fullerton 9-6 in their series finale last Sunday in Fullerton. UCR had dropped 15 in a row before the win against the Titans. They are now 10-21 overall.
Bubba Rocha is leading the team in hitting at .360, ninth in the Big West. Cole Koniarsky's 46 hits are the sixth most in the conference. He is hitting .359 with a team-high 22 RBI.
Alfredo Capacete II is scheduled to start on Friday. He is 0-4 with a 6.41 ERA in 12 appearances. Friday is Capacete II's third start of the year. He has struck out 33 and walked 10 in 26.2 innings.
Saturday's probable starter is Matthew Flores. Saturday is Flores's seventh start in 11 appearances. He is 0-5 with a 4.75 ERA and has struck out 29 in 36 innings.
Sunday's starter is yet to be determined.
AGAINST THE OPPONENT

CHAMPAGNE STEALS
Alex Champagne stole three bases against CSUN on Apr. 15 to become the first Dirtbags player to record three swipes in a game since Connor Kokox stole three at Hawai'i on Mar. 21, 2021.
He has stolen five bases in the last five games (in six attempts) and now leads the team and the Big West in the category with 13 (13-16). He is 105th in Division I in stolen bases (131 ranked).
As a team, the Dirtbags have stolen 66 bases in 80 attempts. In the past four games, dating back to the start of the CSUN series, Long Beach State is 9-of-11 on the basepaths. LBSU stole six bases against Milwaukee on Mar. 1 and again at Pepperdine on Apr. 2. In the series against UC San Diego (Apr. 5-7), the Dirtbags stole nine bases in 10 attempts.
The Dirtbags are 32nd in Division I in stolen bases per game (1.94) and 37th in stolen bases.
