WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR THE BEACH
It's a busy week for Long Beach State, as the Beach will send athletes to three different meets. The action gets underway on Thursday and Friday at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic Multi's. CSUN, Long Beach State, and UC Riverside are scheduled to compete.
Long Beach State will start Milo Orona and Aiden Turner in the decathlon. Sofia Bailey, Alli Bryan, Hailey Fune', and Jenelle Hurley will compete in the heptathlon for the Beach.
The Beach will compete at USC's Ron & Sharline Allice Trojan Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Friday's men's and women's discus and men's and women's hammer throw will be conducted at the Colich Throwing Center in Wilmington. Saturday's track and field action will be held at USC's Loker Track Stadium. BYU, Cal State LA, CSUN, Colorado State, Long Beach State, and the host Trojans are scheduled to compete at USC.
The weekend will conclude when Long Beach State enters San Diego State's 45th Aztec Invitational. Scheduled to compete for LBSU at SDSU are;

TURNER NAMED TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Long Beach State's Rahni Turner was named Big West Track Athlete of the Week on Mar. 19.
Turner helped the Beach women win the Challenge Cup for the third consecutive season and the 12th time in 29 Challenge Cup competitions. She won the 100m hurdles by running a new meet record of 13.32. The previous mark was 13.37, which was set by Megan George in 2017. Turner returned to run 24.95 to finish third in the 200m. Turner ran the lead off leg of Long Beach State's winning 4x100m relay, which ran a time of 46.66. She also ran the third leg of the Beach's 4x400m relay, which placed fifth (4:23.88).
Tuesday was the second time in her career that Turner was named Big West Athlete of the Week; she was honored previously on Mar. 14, 2023.
LOOKING BACK
Long Beach State swept the men's and women's track and field titles at the 29th Challenge Cup Friday night at the Titan Track Complex.
