The sophomore ran a time of 13.48 dominating the competition by over half a second ahead of the second-place finisher. The mark beats the previous program-best by one-hundredth of a second, set back in 1994 by Le'Gretta Hinds.
The new 100m Hurdles record is Turner's second Long Beach State record this calendar year after setting a new 60m Hurdles record during the indoor season.
In addition to her individual victory in the hurdles, Turner ran a leg in each of the two relay races helping the Beach to wins in both events. Starting the day with the 4x100m, she ran along with Jaelyn Predium, Jayda Rustemoglu, and Kaitlyn Williams for a time of 45.99 and the top spot on the podium. Hours later, the 4x400m Relay team of Daryana Hall, Alex Heerink-van Breda, along with Rustemoglu posted a time of 3:52.50 for another event victory.
Williams also had a great showing on her own in the 100m Dash, posting a time of 11.81 for a third-place finish.
On the men's side, Elijah Harris posted the highest placement for the team in Triple Jump. His final mark of 14.27m (46-10) was good for a runner-up finish.
Out on the track, Caleb Roberson finished third in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 52.8 as well as running the anchor leg in the 4x100m Relay. In that relay race, Tristyn Flores, Malik Harness, Mekhi Mays, and Roberson finished third with a time of 40.12. That time ranks as the eighth fastest in program history.
Speaking of Mays, he etched his name into the record book twice on Saturday afternoon. In addition to the relay race time, he raced in the 100m Dash. The junior ran a time of 10.51 to finish sixth-place, but it also goes as the eighth fastest mark in program history.
Out in the throws event, the duo of Aiden Pastorian and Sebastian Coleman finished third and fourth, respectively. Pastorian posted a throw of 15.90m (52-2) while Coleman had a mark of 15.78m (51-9.25).
The Beach will be back in action next week as they head to Eugene, Ore. for the Oregon Preview.
