ABOUT LAST WEEKEND
•  The Dirtbags go into their second midweek of the season with a 7-3 overall record and riding a four-game win streak. Last weekend, they were crowned LeClair Classic Champions sweeping their weekend in Greenville, N.C.
•  Their first game of the tournament was a beatdown of Georgetown that resulted in an 18-3 victory for the 'Bags. The lineup had four multi-hit efforts and every single starter recorded a hit and run scored.
•  Saturday, they played the night cap against the hosts and No. 9 ranked East Carolina. In a tightly contested contest, Long Beach came out on top 3-2 on the backs of Rocco Peppi and the bullpen.
•  The finale saw the offense explode once again with a 10-4 victory over Indiana to complete the weekend sweep. Jack Hammond led a group of four multi-hit performances finishing a triple shy of the cycle with four RBI.

MIDWEEK MATCHUP
•  Long Beach State had their second midweek contest of the season on Tuesday, taking on No. 16 UCLA at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Despite their comeback effort, the Dirtbags fell 7-6 to the Bruins.
•  UCLA's first four hitters of the game all reached and came around to score putting the 'Bags in an early 4-0 deficit. But they were able to rally back and tie things up in the top of the eighth.
•  After a Bruin run put them back in front in the bottom of the eighth, the Dirtbags put runners on second and third in the top of the ninth as they tried to rally back. With 2 outs, Rocco Peppi sent a liner down the right field line that was snared by the first baseman to end the game.
