EUGENE, Ore. – Long Beach State's duo of Jason Smith and Aaron Booth had a great showing on day one of the NCAA Championships in Oregon on Wednesday. Smith finished the men's Long Jump in ninth-place while Booth currently sits in twelfth in the men's Decathlon after five of the ten events.
Smith got better through each of his first three jumps and found himself in the top nine to advance onto the final round. His third attempt ended up being his best, posting a mark of 7.68m (25 feet, 2.5 inches) giving the senior a ninth-place finish in the NCAA Championships.
