Long Beach State jumped on an early lead and never looked back to take down Brown.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 12 Long Beach State looked to extend their win streak to nine games as they hosted Brown and they ended up doing just that as they dominated, 14-5. Senior Annabel Harman posted four goals to lead the Beach followed by three from freshman Orsi Hertzka and junior Marilia Mimidi.

LBSU came out hot to begin the game as they posted the first four goals of the match jumping to a 4-0 lead. Hertzka scored in the opening minute as freshman Sarah Barker assisted with the pass. Harman scored second with the help from Mimidi. Mimidi would score shortly after, followed by another one from Hertzka.

Brown netted a goal twice to commence the second quarter to crawl within two, but LBSU ended up four straight goals in the second quarter to stretch their lead, 8-2. Barker scored with the help from senior Tori Morrissey. Harman bagged two goals in the quarter to give her a hat trick on the night. Mimidi added once more in the final minute of the half with an assist from junior Paige Bennett.

Hertzka would score her third goal of the game in the opening minute of the third quarter with a pass from Mimidi. Sophomore Olivia Grim joined the fun by netting a goal in the third quarter to make it 10-3 on the night. Morrissey saw daylight with her first goal of the night at the 5:04 mark of the third making it 11-3. The Beach closed out the quarter without allowing another goal in the period.

After two goals from Brown the Beach would respond with three goals of their own. Morrissey, Harman, and Mimidi found the back of the net to finish off Brown, 14-5.

Harman led the way with four goals and jumped to 30 goals on the season for the Beach. Hertzka's three goal outing has now solidified her spot in the LBSU record books as she is tied for ninth for most goals scored in a single season with 58. Mimidi now has 38 on the season with her hat trick, followed by 33 from Barker. Morrissey rounds off the top five scorers for the Beach with 28.

The Beach will be back in action on Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. as they continue Big West play against No. 11 UC Davis at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.
