Long Beach State will play three more home matches before closing out the season on the road.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State women's tennis will host two matches this week at the Rhodes Tennis Center, starting tomorrow at 2 p.m. when Cincinnati comes to the Beach.
Long Beach State (9-3, 3-1 Big West) split their two matches last week, rolling to a 7-0 victory over Youngstown State before falling to Houston in a match that was closer than the 4-0 score indicated.
The Beach will finish off a stretch of non-conference matches with one more on Wednesday, hosting Cincinnati (7-4). The Bearcats play two matches on their trip to California, taking on LMU on Tuesday before facing Long Beach State.
Big West Conference play then resumes for LBSU on Thursday when the Beach hosts the Rainbow Wahine of Hawai'i (3-6, 1-1 Big West). Playing on the mainland for all of the team's league matches, their scheduled date with UC Riverside was rained out before the Rainbow Wahine defeated UC Irvine 6-1. Then in early March, UH fell at Cal State Fullerton by a 6-1 scoreline, with top-flight singles player Petra Melounova picking up the win. The junior is 6-1 in dual match play and starts the week ranked No. 100 in singles.
Junior Natalia Munoz leads Long Beach State with nine dual match wins this season, just in front of Lalita Devarakonda who has gone 8-1 overall with LBSU. Wiktoria Rutkowska will likely face off with Melounova in the top flight, where the freshman has put up a 7-4 record so far this season.

Following this week's matches, Long Beach State will play one more match at the Rhodes Tennis Center, hosting UC Santa Barbara in a key Big West match at 11 a.m. on March 30.
