Beach Takes On Conference Rivals At Big West Cross Country Championships

Long Beach State’s women finished seventh, the men sixth at the 2019 championships.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Facing their conference rivals, seniors Alyssa Allen and Michael Simpson led the way for Long Beach State as the Beach competed in the final meet of the conference season, the Big West Championships.
Final Results
Allen led the way for the women who finished in seventh place. Allen was 34th overall with a time of 22:07.9, while sophomore Sofia Ramos was next best, one spot behind in 35th with a time of 22:15.3.
On the men's side, Michael Simpson was the top finisher, taking 26th overall with a time of 25:40.1 as the team took sixth among the men. Ricky Villa and Jacob Korgan were next across the line for the Beach.
Long Beach State will now head to the postseason, racing in the NCAA Western Regional on Friday, November 15 in Colfax, Wash. hosted by Washington State.
