Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State will split its squad this weekend, as Anais Dallara finishes her time at the ITA All-American Championships while the rest of the women's tennis team will travel to Fullerton to play in the Fullerton Invitational this weekend.

After the back draw was rained out in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Dallara played one final match, an additional singles match with #65 Sonja Molnar of Iowa. Dallara came within a couple of points of grabbing her biggest win yet, falling in three sets to Molnar. Dallara lost the first set 6-0, but rebounded to take the second set 6-3. In the 10-point tiebreaker, however, the senior came up just short, losing 10-7.

In Long Beach State's regular team action, the 49ers will travel to conference rival Cal State Fullerton this weekend, as the Titans host the Fullerton Invitational from October 7-9. The remainder of the 49ers will participate in the tournament, with the exception of Klaudia Malenovska, who continues to rehab a knee injury.

With Dallara playing in the ITA All-American Championships, Rachel Manasse will take over as the 49ers top seed in the tournament, and was placed second overall in the draw. Junior Anna Jeczmionka also received a first-round bye in singles, so the pair has automatically advanced to the Round of 32. Laura Bernard, Sarah Cantlay, Julie Luzar, and Karolina Rozenberg will all start singles play on Friday, Oct. 7 in the Round of 64.

In doubles, Long Beach State will receive two byes. Manasse and Bernard, sitting at the top of the draw, will receive a bye into Saturday's Round of 16, as will Cantlay and Luzar, a team that won 22 matches last season. The only doubles team to have a match on Friday will be Jeczmionka and Rozenberg, who will face Korab/McCray of CS Northridge.

The Fullerton Invitational will provide a nice preview to the conference season, as five conference teams will be participating, with Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside sending their teams along with Long Beach State and the host Titans. Oregon and Portland State are also bringing their teams, while players from UCLA and Concordia are also participating.
