Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State picked up another solid win, defeating No. 75 Louisville 6-1 on Friday. The 49ers swept the doubles point and picked up five singles wins to beat the Cardinals.
The 49ers started out the day with a trio of wins in doubles. Hannah Grady and Jessica Weeks lived up to their top billing with an 8-2 win over Baez/Gorbea, and Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton clinched the doubles point with a 8-4 win over Jones and Van Aerde.
In singles, Long Beach State swept the top five spots. Anais Dallara had the most impressive win, a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Jo-Ann Van Aerde, and Rachel Manasse also put up a zero, outlasting Lauren Imre 7-5 before a 6-0 second set.
Long Beach State concludes their busy three-match week at home tomorrow, hosting No. 42 Denver at 11 a.m. in the Rhodes Tennis Center.
