Beach Tennis Falls To No. 42 Denver

Long Beach, Calif. - LONG BEACH, Calif. - Playing a third match in four days, Long Beach State was unable to match up with No. 42 Denver, falling 6-1 to the Pioneers.
Long Beach State started the day well up top as Hannah Grady and Jessica Weeks picked up a win at No. 1 singles over Iwinski/Voelker 8-5. However, the 49ers dropped the other two doubles matches 8-2 to lose the point.
The 49ers did not fare much better in singles. Rachel Manasse fought back from a first set loss against Ute Schnoy to pick up a win at No. 3 singles 6-7, 6-3, 6-1. The remainder of the team lost in singles, leading to the 6-1 setback.
Long Beach State finishes the home regular season next week, hosting two matches. The first is set for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 26 when the 49ers host Dartmouth at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
