Darin Blizzard is in his eighth year as a volunteer assistant coach for the Long Beach State water polo program. The former player lettered at LBSU from 1986-1989.
Blizzard played for the USA National Team from 1993 to 1994 and was a member of the USA FINA Cup team in 1994. He also played with the USA National “B” Team in 1989, 1990, and 1991 before playing in Marseille, France in 1993.
Blizzard finished his career at Long Beach State as the fifth-leading all-time scorer in 1989. He competed for the LBSU swim team from 1988-91 as well, and placed second in the Big West in the 50 Free in 1990.
Blizzard has worked as a city of Long Beach Police officer for over 15 years. He and his wife, Sabrina, have two children, Alex and Jack.
