Beach Splits Between Mt. SAC Relays And Beach Invitational

Long Beach State delivered strong performances across two meets Friday, highlighted by a 100-meter victory at the Mt. SAC Relays.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State track and field split competition between two meets Friday, competing at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., while also hosting the Beach Invitational at Jack Rose Track, a two-day meet.
The Beach turned in several strong performances across both sites, highlighted by a sprint victory and multiple top-three finishes in distance and field events.
WOMEN
At the Beach Invitational, Alyssa Tapanes led the distance group with a second-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking in at 11:13.56, while Brooke Willoughby followed in third at 11:41.08.
In the field events, Rori Denness-Lamont placed third in the javelin with a throw of 49.03 meters (160' 10"). Kyra Miedecke (43.58m, 142' 11") and Mai Ricks (34.85m, 114' 4") also competed in the event. Giszelle Hrehor added a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 58.54 meters (192' 0"), while Amanda Javellana (54.94m, 180' 3"), Abigail Gavrilovic (53.97m, 177' 0") and Ricks (46.28m, 151' 10") rounded out the group.
Sophie Garrou competed in the pole vault, clearing 3.48 meters (11' 4 ½").
At the Mt. SAC Relays, Zamaria Mack recorded a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.97 and later competed in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.82). Trinity Barnett also competed in the 100 meter dash, posting a time of 11.77.
MEN
At the Beach Invitational, Milo Orona led the javelin group with a throw of 55.77 meters (182' 11"), followed by Matthew Bender (54.71m, 179' 6") and Cytres Vives (53.11m, 174' 3").
In the hammer throw, Eman Goodloe placed sixth with a mark of 63.44 meters (208' 1"), while Tyler Knowles finished eighth at 62.28 meters (204' 4"). Diego Herrera-Vendrell also competed, recording a throw of 45.35 meters (148' 9").
At Mt. SAC, Trey Sheron highlighted the day with a first-place finish in the 100 meters, crossing the line in 10.40, which ranks third in program history. Vincent Jones added a runner-up finish in the 400 meters with a time of 46.90, while Jaden Dasher placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 51.94.
Long Beach State will conclude the Beach Invitational on Saturday at Jack Rose Track.
