Beach Splits Competition Between Pacific Coast Invitational And Bryan Clay Invite

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State track and field split competition Thursday, with the majority of the squad hosting the Pacific Coast Invitational at Jack Rose Track while one distance runner competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa.
The Beach turned in a number of solid performances at home across both track and field events.
WOMEN
Jonelle Scott competed in the 100 meters, finishing in 12.18, while Ndiah Hall ran 15.99 in the 100-meter hurdles. Elisa Rodriguez led the Beach in the 800 meters with a seventh-place finish in 2:19.12.
In the field events, Kyra Miedecke recorded a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 43.89 meters (144' 0). Giszelle Hrehor led the hammer throw group with a seventh-place mark of 60.27 meters (197' 9), while Amanda Javellana also competed with a throw of 54.97 meters (180' 4).
Sammy Chang (46.18m, 151' 6) and Mai Ricks (43.74m, 143' 6) competed in the discus, while Amelia Gray posted a mark of 5.20 meters (17' 0 ¾) in the long jump. Madeline Scovil added a mark of 11.37 meters (37' 3 ¾) in the triple jump.

MEN
On the track, VJ Vanderlipe (10.99) and Miguel Orozco (11.02) competed in the 100 meters. In the 800 meters, Cash Obando led the group with a seventh-place finish in 1:59.07, followed by Brandon Day in ninth (2:00.40), while Ethan Florez also competed (2:02.05).
In the field events, Quinten Flowers highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the long jump, posting a mark of 7.11 meters (23' 4), which ranks sixth all-time in program history. Steven Evans-Glynn added a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.96 meters (6' 5).
The hammer throw group saw Eman Goodloe record a mark of 64.03 meters (210' 1), while Tyler Knowles added a throw of 61.04 meters (200' 3).
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Nataly Toledo represented the Beach in the women's 10,000 meters, posting a time of 39:06.06 to open competition in Azusa.
Long Beach State will continue competition this weekend with additional events at the Beach Invitational, MT. SAC Relays, and the Bryan Clay Invitational.
