Long Beach State heads to Fresno after closing its weekend series with momentum.
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State continues its road trip on Monday looking to respond after dropping two of three games at Cal State Bakersfield over the weekend. The Dirtbags closed the series with a 5-1 victory behind another complete-game performance from Jason Gerfers and now travel to Fresno for a matchup against the Fresno State Bulldogs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

• The 72nd season of Long Beach State baseball continues Monday as the Dirtbags travel to Fresno for a non-conference matchup against the Fresno State Bulldogs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
• Long Beach State avoided a series sweep Sunday with a 5-1 win behind a complete game from Gerfers.

• Long Beach State continues to feature two of the conference's top hitters at the top of the order, with Trevor Goldenetz ranked third in the Big West at .386 and Jake Evans fourth at .385. Goldenetz also ranks fourth in on-base percentage at .505 and fourth in the conference with 32 hits.
• Dylan Lina remains among the conference leaders in run production, tied for first in the Big West with 27 RBI while also ranking seventh with five home runs. Trotter Enright enters the week ninth in RBI with 21 and sixth in doubles with eight.
• Camden Gasser continues to lead the conference in walks with 24 and ranks fifth in on-base percentage at .492. Goldenetz also ranks second in sacrifice bunts with five and second in stolen bases with eight, while Matt Toomey leads the Big West with four sacrifice flies.
GERFERS COMPLETE GAME
• Gerfers delivered his second complete game of the season Sunday in Long Beach State's 5-1 win over Cal State Bakersfield, allowing one run on four hits while striking out 12 over nine innings.
• The freshman right-hander has now thrown two complete games in his last three weekend starts and continues to give the Dirtbags length at the back of the weekend rotation.

• Long Beach State dropped the first two games of the weekend series at Cal State Bakersfield before responding Sunday behind Gerfers' complete-game effort. The Dirtbags scored four runs in the third inning of the finale, highlighted by RBI singles from Goldenetz, Smith Chandler and Enright before Lina added a sacrifice fly.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Fresno State Bulldogs enter the week with a 7-14 overall record and 0-3 in the Mountain West with a .282 team batting average. Mikey Boyd leads the Bulldogs at .353 with 24 hits, seven doubles and 19 RBI, while Brady Hewitt is hitting .341 with 30 hits, eight doubles and three triples. Griffen Sotomayor adds a .328 average with three home runs and 15 RBI, while Marcus Nolen leads the team with 21 RBI and three home runs.
• On the mound, as a team Fresno State carries a 7.06 team ERA. BJ Rodriguez owns a 2.57 ERA in eight appearances with 13 strikeouts, and one save, while Parker Heintz has posted a 3.14 ERA across three starts. Jordan Haver also enters with a 3.38 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 13.1 innings.
