The 2024 Big West Champions will start their campaign at the Triton Invite.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Head Coach Gavin Arroyo and staff announced the 2025 schedule for men's water polo. The 2024 Big West champions look to repeat their campaign and qualify once again for the NCAA Championship held at Stanford, Calif. in December.
The Beach will start their campaign at the traditional Triton Invitational, hosted by UC San Diego, August 29–31, with six opponents. The first game will be against Occidental on Friday at 10:50 a.m.
Due to renovations at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center, the Beach will host their home games at the Long Beach City College Aquatics Complex. The home opener will be the weekend of September 13–14, featuring a match against Harvard, followed by three exhibition games against nearby junior colleges. Another big game at home will be the NCAA quarterfinal rematch against Fordham on October 21.
Long Beach State will also compete at the traditional MPSF Invite, hosted this year by UCLA on September 19–21. The tournament features the top-ranked schools in the country, with the Beach playing four games.
Big West play starts October 9, as Long Beach State will travel to Cal State Fullerton. On October 17, the 2024 title rematch will take place as the Beach travels to face UC San Diego on the road.
The Beach will host LMU for the final match of the regular season on November 13.
UC Irvine will host the Big West Championships on November 21–23. The winner earns an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Championships, hosted by Stanford on December 5–7.
