Cal State Bakersfield improved to 13-21 on the year with a doubleheader sweep of NAIA Westcliff Tuesday night at home in Bakersfield. The Roadrunners are 6-6 in Big West play.
Nick Mascaro leads the team in hitting (.353), home runs (6), slugging (.566), and on-base percentage (.443). He is second to Evan Cloyd (22) on the squad in RBI with 16.
Friday's probable 'Runner starter is Ryan King, who is 0-4 this season. King has struck out a team-high 42 strikeouts in 41 innings.
Shane McAlinden is scheduled to start Saturday's game for CSUB. He is 1-4 with 16 strikeouts in 36.1 innings.
Sunday's probable starter is Jacob Gutierrez. He is 3-3 and has struck out 26 in 40.1 innings of work.
Michael Riley has appeared in a club-high 14 games on the bump for Cal State Bakersfield. He is 3-2 with a team-high four saves in 34.2 innings.
Long Beach State leads the all-time series 7-6.
