Ten Athletes Named To ACWPC Men’s Academic All-American Team

Long Beach State was also named to the Team GPA list.
LONG BEACH, Calif.- The Association of College Water Polo Coaches announced the Men's All Academic Awards for the 2024 season, recognizing student-athlete's efforts in the pool and the classroom on Friday and Long Beach State had ten players selected. Long Beach State was also named to the Team GPA list.
The 2024 awards recognized over 500 student-athletes who were committed to maintaining high academic standards while excelling in their sport. These students listed maintained at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Joe Jenness, Michael Soybel and Jason O'Donnell were all named to the Outstanding list for maintaining a 3.71-4.00 GPA for the 2024 season, the highest honors awarded.
Artur Diaz, Kostantinos Kapragkos, Harper Stewart and Itai Roth were named to the Superior list for their achievements in the classroom, maintaining a 3.41-3.70.
Gabi Acosta, Nicolas Fuchs and Jovan Mandic were named to the Excellent list for maintaining a 3.20-3.40 GPA for the season. Acosta was also named to the ACWPC All-American Second Team for his efforts in the pool, leading the team in goals with 64 and earned both Big West Player and Freshman of the Year.
Long Beach State was named to the Team GPA list for achieving a 3.01 GPA during their 2024 season. The Beach was one of 41 colleges and universities named to the list.
