
Women’s Volleyball Adds Naseri Tumanuvao To Coaching Staff

A coaching veteran of the Big West, Tumanuvao has coached previously at UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Volleyball Head Coach Natalie Reagan has selected Naseri Tumanuvao to join her staff as an Associate Head Coach. Tumanuvao is a veteran of collegiate coaching, having spent the last ten years as an assistant coach in the Big West.
"I'm beyond excited to add Naseri to our staff," said Reagan. "His wealth of experience will be invaluable to our team, and his recruiting skills will be a huge asset as we continue to grow our program. Not only is he an exceptional coach, but he's a great human being who will help develop strong, positive student-athletes both on and off the court. His deep ties to the Long Beach community make him a perfect fit for us."
Tumanuvao comes to Long Beach State from UC Irvine, where he was the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the program. Part of a massive turnaround with the 'Eaters, Tumanuvao joined a program that had finished in last place in 2019 and helped UCI record four straight finishes of .500 or better in Big West conference play in the last four seasons.
Prior to going to UCI, Tumanuvao worked for four seasons at Cal State Fullerton as an Assistant Coach after staying on with Concordia Irvine for three years as a graduate assistant at the conclusion of his collegiate playing career.
An outstanding player, Tumanuvao played for two seasons at Concordia Irvine, graduating as the program's career leader in kills with 636 and was the NAIA Player of the Year. A two-time All-American, Tumanuvao led the Eagles to the NAIA title game in 2014.
Coming to the Beach with extensive ties in the local volleyball community, Tumanuvao is the Head Coach and Club Recruiting Coordinator of the T-Street Volleyball Club in Irvine, a positing he has held since 2014 while also spending two years with the USA Women's National Team as a volunteer assistant coach.
