Long Beach State hits the road for the first time Tuesday night when the Dirtbags travel to LMU. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
LMU swept a weekend series from Seattle U, outscoring the Redhawks 39-20. Colby Wallace went 7-for-11 at the plate with one home run and a 1.273 slugging percentage. DJ Ghiorso recorded nine RBI for the Lions.

LMU is hosting Cal Poly Monday night before welcoming LBSU to Page Stadium. Both team's starting pitchers are to be determined for the game.Â

Long Beach State and LMU are playing baseball for the 145th time, with the Dirtbags leading the all-time series 88-55-1. The clubs will play each other again in Long Beach on Mar. 18.

LINA'S LIGHTNING START
Junior transfer Dylan Lina is off to a strong start for the Dirtbags. Lina went 5-for-10 with two home runs in the season-opening series against Northwestern. He drove in four runs, posting a 1.100 slugging and a .583 on-base percentage. Lina did not commit an error in four chances (1-3) at third base.

OPENING DAY SCORING
Long Beach State scored the most runs on opening day in the Dirtbags' era (since 1989) as LBSU defeated Northwestern 19-6 on Feb. 14. The 19 runs broke the previous mark of 15, set on Feb. 3, 1992, when LBSU defeated LMU 15-1. Feb. 14 was only the seventh time in the Dirtbags' era in which the club scored at least 10 runs on opening day.

CHAMPAGNE STREAK
Returning to May 27, 2023, Long Beach State centerfield Alex Champagne started 59 consecutive games, playing 531.2 straight innings. He was the only Dirtbags player to appear and start all 55 games in 2024, playing every inning in center field.

2000 AGAIN
Long Beach State enjoyed tremendous support on opening weekend. The Dirtbags 1,842 in game one. Long Beach State drew over 2,000 fans for the Saturday and Sunday games against Northwestern. On Saturday, 2,055 fans came through the turnstiles, while the Bark in the Park crowd numbered 2,123 on Sunday.

Since 2000, the Dirtbags have played in front of at least 2000 fans 117 times.
