Savannah Tucker Named Big West Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

Tucker scored a career-high of 33 points in the win against CSUN.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State's Savannah Tucker earned her second Big West Player of the Week award in the season after leading the Beach to a win against CSUN with a career-high of 33 points. 
 
The senior guard is averaging 17.2 points per game this season on 38.9% shooting. Not just limited to scoring, Tucker has 58 assists and 30 steals this season while averaging 3.0 rebounds per game.  
 
Tucker totaled a team-best of 26 points in the loss against UC Davis on Thursday night while shooting 40% from the field. 
 
In Saturday's win against CSUN, also on the road, Tucker had a fantastic afternoon shooting 55.5% (10-from-18) from the field making it a season-high of field goals made in a game while also shooting 58.3% (7-from-12) from the three-point line, turning into a career-high of three points made in a game. 
 
Tucker's career-high of 33 points marks the first time in the coaching Wright Era to score 30 or more points in a game. 
 
The Beach (12-10, 8-5 Big West) is back at the Walter Pyramid to host league leaders Hawai'i on Thursday night. Tipoff for the match up against the Rainbow Wahine is scheduled for 6 p.m. at ESPN+.
