Corbin Stanley And Gavin Arroyo To Represent Team USA At Water Polo World Cup

The tournament will be played in Bucharest, Romania from January 6-12.

LONG BEACH, Calif.Freshman Corbin Stanley was selected for the roster competing for USA Water Polo at the upcoming World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup in Bucharest, Romania, while Long Beach State head coach Gavin Arroyo will resume his coaching duties as the team's head coach.  
 
After winning bronze with team USA in the last Olympic Games, Arroyo returns to the national team as an assistant coach. With the Beach this Fall, Arroyo led the Beach to win the Big West Championship and was named Coach of the Year for the league. The tournament will mark the first international competition since the Olympic Games for the senior national team. 
 
Freshman Corbin Stanley earns his first call up for the senior national team after an outstanding first season. Stanley scored 51 goals, earned 41 ejections and added six steals in his first year for the Beach. The center was also recognized by the league earning honorable mention and being named to the All-Freshman conference team. 
 
Arroyo, Stanley and team USA will open the tournament with group stage play against Japan on January 6 and Romania on January 7. More information regarding the tournament can be found at https://www.worldaquatics.com/water-polo
