Game Notes

SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
After defeating then-No. 3 BYU in a preseason exhibition, Utah Valley is off to a 2-1-1 start. Playing every match on the road, the Wolverines defeated Michigan and Detroit Mercy in week one before posting a tie against UCF and a 5-0 loss at No. 21 Virginia.

Utah Valley received 14 votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.

Ruby Hladek and Faith Webber have both scored three goals for the Wolverines, ranking 25th in Division I in the category this week. Hladak has also charted three assists for nine points, ranking her 14th in D-1 this week.

CJ Graham is 1-1-1 in goal for Utah Valley this season. She has made 18 saves in 290 minutes of work. Leah Wolf was the winning goalie at Detroit Mercy, making two saves in 70 minutes of action.

AGAINST THE OPPONENT
Long Beach State and Utah Valley are playing for the second time. Last season, the clubs played to a 1-1 tie in Long Beach.

INGRASSIA NEARING 200
Long Beach State head coach Mauricio Ingrassia is closing in on 200 career wins at the helm of the Beach.
Ingrassia is 199-136-53 as the head coach at LBSU. Upon reaching the 200-win plateau, Ingrassia would become the 82nd active NCAA Division I women's soccer coach to win at least 200 in his career and the 175th Division I women's soccer coach to win at least 200 in their career.

SCHUCK SAVES
Aurora Schuck has made her presence known in goal for Long Beach State. In her first season for the Beach, Schuck has played every minute for LBSU in four matches in 2024, tying her for second in Division I in the category with several others. She has made 19 saves, the third most in the Big West and the 31st most in Division I beginning this week. Schuck's season-high in saves is nine, which she made against UCLA in the season opener. She ranks 68th in Division I in shutouts (1) and is 85th in saves per game (4.75).

OPENING NIGHT CROWD
On the opening night of the 2024 season, 1,604 people came through the turnstiles to see Long Beach State face UCLA. The attendance was the fifth largest in school history and the most for an LBSU match since Long Beach State and the Bruins faced one another in front of the LBSU school-record crowd of 2,303 on Aug. 25, 2019, the opening match of the 2019 campaign.

The Beach followed up with a crowd of 932 against Santa Clara on Aug. 22 and 906 against BYU on Aug. 24.

LBSU currently leads the Big West and ranks 26th in Division I, with an average attendance of 1,147. Long Beach State leads the Big West in total attendance and is 12th in Division I (3,440).
