Lavreshina second in 400m at Portugal’s championships

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Hailey Fune' wrapped up action at the USA Track and Field Trials Saturday night at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Fune' ran 13.58 in heat two (of three) but did not advance. Her time was 23rd in the field of 27.
Tayah DeSousa competed on Saturday at the Canadian Bell Track and Field Trials at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex in Montreal, Quebec.
DeSousa was entered in two events. She did not finish her preliminary 100m hurdles race. In the long jump, she finished 13th with a leap of 17-1 1/2.
Aidan Turner was scheduled to enter the men's long jump but was scratched from the event.
At Portugal's national championships, Sofia Lavreshina finished second in the 400m in a time of 54.29. Unfortunately for Lavreshina, her time did not meet the Olympic standard. She runs again on Sunday in the 400m hurdles.
