Rhona Cook And Peppi Ramstedt Named First Team All-Big West

Rhona Cook earned All-First Team honors in singles, as well as doubles along with partner Peppi Ramstedt
IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced the Women's Tennis All-Big West Teams and Long Beach State had two players selected. In singles, senior Rhona Cook took home All-Big West First Team honors. Cook and partner Peppi Ramstedt were named to the First Team in doubles action.
Cook earns Big West honors in singles for the second time in as many seasons. She collected Honorable Mention accolades last season before securing First Team honors as a senior. Cook finished the season with a team-high 22 overall wins in singles action. She went 13-5 in the dual season and finished Big West competition with a 9-1 record. She played the full season at the top singles flight.
In doubles competition, Cook and Ramstedt paired up at flight one and led Long Beach State to a 33-16 overall record. The duo posted a 13-5 record in the dual season. The pair closed the season winning eight of their last 10 doubles outings.
During the year, both Ramstedt and Cook were awarded Big West Player of the Week accolades. Ramstedt earned the honors on January 25 after capturing three doubles victories and a pair of singles wins at the LBSU Beach Tennis Winter Invite. Cook, meanwhile, was named Big West Player of the Week on April 3 after leading the Beach to a 2-0 week with victories over Brown and conference rival Cal State Fullerton. She won both her singles and doubles competitions as she led LBSU to a five-match winning streak.
