Day 2 Results
WALNUT, Calif.—The Long Beach State track and field team performed strongly on day two of the Mt. SAC Relays Friday at Hilmar Lodge Stadium.
MEN
Canaan Wharry finished third in the Collegiate B Discus with a toss of 169-8.
Daniel Palacio tied for fourth in the Collegiate C Pole Vault with Oregon's Hunter Angove as both cleared 15-11.
The team of Mekhi Mays, Naythn Scruggs, Malik Harness, and Tristyn Flores finished sixth in the Collegiate 4x100m in a time of 41.07.
Omri Shiff, Patrick Henderson, Caleb Roberson, and Scruggs were seventh in the Collegiate 4x400m. The team ran a Long Beach State season-best 3:11.17.
Justin Watterson won his Collegiate 110m hurdles heat in a time of 14.24. He came in eighth overall.
Aiden Pastorian finished eighth in the Collegiate Shot Put (55-4 1/4).
WOMEN
Charlotte O'Connor finished third in the Collegiate C Pole Vault, clearing 12-5 1/2 on her second attempt.
Hailey Fune' competed in three events on Friday. She was sixth in the Collegiate 100m Hurdles (13.85) and tied for 16th with Sydnie Vanek of Arizona in the Collegiate Long Jump (19-2 1/2). Unfortunately for Fune', she missed all three of her attempts at 5-5 3/4 in the Collegiate A High Jump.
In a field of 34, Sofia Lavreshina placed eighth in the Collegiate 400m hurdles (59.82).
UP NEXT
On Saturday, Long Beach State is scheduled to compete in six events on the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays. The competition will be held throughout the day.
